Paddlers are put into the South Fork River at the Spencer Mountain Boat Launch. Once on their way from there, paddlers travel south through an up river stretch of class 1 and 2 rapids. Following these rapids, paddlers experience uninterrupted flatwater along a more remote section of the South Fork River with only scarce signs of the surrounding city's civilization. Paddlers encounter the next major sign of civilization, Interstate 85, as they pass under it. Shortly after this, paddlers must exit the water to portage their craft alongside the McAdenville Lake Dam. Entering the water again, paddlers pass by South Fork Village Apartments, where paddlers of age can stop in for a brew at District 8 Beer Company. Further along downstream, paddlers travel through the heart of Downtown Cramerton with attractions including Doffer's Canteen, Mayworth's Public House, and Goat Island Public Park. Finally, paddlers are taken out of the river at the Riverside Park and Greenway.
